Honors Graduation Checklist
Information for All Graduates
After each semester, make sure that all of your Honors courses are coded with the "Honors Credit" notation on your transcript. The Honors Scholar designation will not be granted without a successful audit of your Honors requirements.
File a Diploma Application through PeopleSoft
An Honors Final Plan of Study and Thesis Plan must be submitted to the Honors Program to be included in the Honors Medalas Ceremony. A plan of study may also be required by your major department.
University Scholars and Honors Scholars may be eligible to submit their theses electronically to the institutional repository, Digital Commons at UConn, in addition to the hardcopy presented to the Honors Program office. Click here for more information.
May 2010 Graduation
12/11/2009 Honors Scholar Final Plan of Study due
12/11/2009 University Scholar Final Plan of Study due
Fall 2009 Diploma Application - Complete online in PeopleSoft
1/23/2010 Senior Class Representative selection process begins. Only students who have submitted Diploma Applications and an Honors Plan of Study by this date will be considered.
2/12/2010 Honors Scholar Thesis Plan form due
2/12/2010 Commencement Program booklet will include names of Honors students who have submitted the required Honors graduation forms by this date: Honors Final Plan of Study and Thesis Plan.
4/15/2010 Honors Senior Survey is due. All graduating Honors senior are asked to share information on their experiences in the Honors Program and their future plans.
4/30/2010

University Scholar Projects, Honors Scholar Theses, & Degree with Distinction Projects due in HARD COPY in the Honors Program office with signed approval forms. Check with your advisors for earlier deadlines for draft and final copies.

Extensions may be granted upon consent and availability of Honors and thesis advisors. Please contact honors@uconn.edu to request a thesis extension. Completion of requirements beyond final deadlines set by the Honors Program and the Registrar's Office will result in postponement of degree conferral.

University Scholars and Honors Scholars may be eligible to submit their theses electronically to the institutional repository, Digital Commons at UConn, by sending an elecronic copy and required information to honors@uconn.edu, in addition to the hardcopy presented to the Honors Program office. August 2010 Graduation
  Submit forms according to deadlines listed above for May 2010 graduates. August 2010 grads may attend the May 2010 Honors Medals Ceremony and UConn Commencement if appropriate forms are filed.

**Students who graduate as a University Scholar or Honors Scholar may not also receive the Degree with Distinction.
Please check with Patty Szarek (Patricia.Szarek@uconn.edu or 486-4223) regarding final deadlines and options for graduation. The University Scholar, Honors Scholar, and Degree with Distinction requirements must be completed at the time of degree conferral. Should a student decide to graduate with an Honors designation, it cannot be added to the degree after conferral.
