Honors Medals Ceremony 2010
Who
Graduating Honors Scholars and University Scholars candidates will be recognized for their academic excellence and distinguished undergraduate careers. If you are a graduate from December 2009 (who did not attend the ceremony in 2009) or a candidate for graduation in May 2010, August 2010, or December 2010, who has turned in the required Honors Final Plan of Study and Thesis Plan forms, you will receive an invitation.

What
Graduating students, along with Honors Faculty and other distinguished guests, will participate in a processional march to music, Jorgensen Auditorium. The processional will begin promptly at 1 p.m. More information regarding the location for lining up for the processional will be sent at a later date.
The ceremony will feature a presentation of medals. Graduating Honors Scholars and University Scholars will receive medals on a neck ribbon. Selected members of the Honors Board of Associate Directors will act as medal tiers and present each student with his or her own medal. The medals will also be worn at Commencement.
The Honors Council Outstanding Honors Faculty Member for 2009 and Distinguished Honors Alumni Award recipients will be recognized.
A reception will follow the recessional march. From approximately 2 to 3 p.m. we will gather for light refreshments, music, and conversation.

- Parking: Parking in the following lots is free to the public on Sunday: Lot 9 and X Lot. If there is no space available in any of these lots, please direct your guests to the North Parking Garage (where there will be a fee charged).
- Purchase your regalia at the co-op. You must wear your gown (no cap) to participate.
- Leave your cell phones & personal belongings at home (or give them to a guest - cell phone turned off - on the day of the event).
- It is very important that you arrive before 12:45 p.m. on the day of the event to line up and receive instructions.

- If you are unable to attend the ceremony, you can pick up your medal at the Honors Program office, CUE 419, starting the Monday after the ceremony.
