STUDY ABROAD FAIR THIS WEEK

Study Abroad Fair on Monday, February 4th from 4 to 7 p.m.

IMPORTANT DEADLINES FROM THE HONORS PROGRAM!


Wednesday, January 30: Rhodes/Marshall/Mitchell Scholarship Information Session

This session will take place at 4pm in CUE 134. Learn about these prestigious awards, postgraduate study in the UK and Ireland with one of these scholarships, the nomination process and what it takes to be competitive. Pre-applications for Rhodes & Marshall are due February 21, 2008; pre-applications for the Mitchell are due March 25, 2008.

Congratulations to those selected as Leadership Legacy students for 2008!

The following students were nominated and selected for the Leadership Legacy Experience...

Linda Drozdowicz.. an MCB major involved with the a cappella group Rubyfruit as well as research on Parkinson's disease in professor Joanne Conover's lab
Heeren Makanji.. an MCB/Biolchemistry major, he is involved in the GLC, several peer mentoring groups, and does research under professor Victoria Robinson
Pratistha Koirala.. a Biology/MCB major and Daily Campus columnist who has been involved in undergraduate research since 2005
Daniel Lin.. a finance major involved in the a cappella group A minor and active volunteer through Habitat for Humanity
Robert Slattery.. Economics/Structural Biology and Biophysics major involved with groups such as the Mansfield Downtown Partnership Committee and has owned his own web development company

"The Connecticut Leadership Legacy Experience has been established to recognize and invite the University's most exceptional student leaders to participate in a year-long leadership enhancement experience that is immersive, comprehensive, substantive, and builds on their legacy as University leaders and helps prepare them for a life of commitment and contribution beyond graduation."

WORK OR INTERN FOR ITHAKA, AN ORGANIZATION THAT RESEARCHES TECHNOLOGY AND SOCIETY

The independent, not-for-profit organization called Ithaka is looking for exceptional students interested in the following job and intern positions with the research group, which focuses on understanding academia's transition to an electronic environment so that it can be managed effectively.

A full-time position is for a Research Analyst to lead a single major grant-funded project over its two-year lifespan. The project will examine the development of a series of interrelated initiatives across the worldwide higher education sector to distribute teaching and learning materials openly on the Internet. CBCF CONGRESSIONAL SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM: THE ROAD TO LEADERSHIP EXCELLENCE

The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, (CBCF) Inc has worked towards creating opportunities in politics to minority students. The CDCF Congressional Summer Internship Program provides qualified undergraduates with nine intensive weeks of experiental learning in the office of a Congressional Black Caucus Member! The goals of the program are to give students a behind-the-scenes look at leadership and the legislative process.. This opportunity is available to undergraduate college students in good academic standing and with demonstrated interest in public service and public policy.
