JOB SUMMARY
The Honors and Enrichment Programs Program Coordinator for UConn Hartford is responsible for academic and co-curricular student services provided by Honors and Enrichment Programs, including planning for and coordination of advising and curricular offerings, co-curricular programs, the Honors community, and Honors student life. This position is supervised on campus by the Assistant Campus Director, Director of Student Services, and in association with the Associate Director for the Honors Program at the Regional Campuses and Director of Regional Campuses for Enrichment Programs. The Program Coordinator will work collaboratively with faculty, students, and staff from across the University to support and sustain Honors and Enrichment Programs engagement opportunities, and community at UConn Hartford.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Co-Curricular Programming
- Develop, coordinate, and implement programs and events in collaboration with campus partners as appropriate that support the curricular and co-curricular goals of Honors and Enrichment Programs, such as leadership development; diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice; career or professional development; and/or personal wellness.
- Assist campus and Honors leadership team in the development of curriculum and courses for Honors students at UConn Hartford.
- Collaborate with Honors staff on recruitment and assignment of Honors first-year seminar facilitators and participation in the Honors first-year seminar as necessary.
- Supervise the day-to-day delivery of Honors and Enrichment Programs and co-curricular programming at UConn Hartford.
- Facilitate student development by serving as advisor to Honors student organizations at UConn Hartford and encouraging collaboration across campuses where appropriate.
- Assist and advise students and student organizations regarding program planning, use of facilities, program arrangements, services, travel, and available equipment.
- Engage in promotional activities for Honors and Enrichment Programs.
- Promote a sense of community among all students enrolled in the Honors Program at UConn Hartford.
- Contribute to successful development, marketing, and implementation of special events and activities at UConn Hartford.
- Independently compose, prepare, and/or edit standard correspondence and publicity materials.
- Host and participate in programming and events on evenings and weekends as needed.
Assessment and Strategic Planning
- Assist in assessment efforts in Honors, including data collection, analysis, and report drafting, requiring knowledge of program objectives.
- Gather relevant data from UConn Hartford campus students (e.g., pre-med- or pre-law-identified students) for sharing with relevant Enrichment Program partners, where useful and necessary.
Advising
- Assume primary responsibility for academic advising for all UConn Hartford Honors students (first and second year Honors students) and a secondary advisor after the second year of study.
- Serve as a resource to UConn Hartford staff and/or faculty on matters of Honors enrollment and requirements as well as for prospective Honors students who will remain at UConn Hartford or change to the Storrs campus.
- Provide secondary advising regarding Honors Program requirements and policies to all Honors students and prospective Honors students.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of Honors Orientation programs and advising new students.
- Support the early intervention program for first-year Honors students to help them achieve success.
- Conduct workshops for students and others about Honors requirements and participation in collaboration with the Honors advising team.
- Represent the Honors Program and Enrichment Programs at UConn events, as assigned.
- Serve as the first point of contact for Honors students support services. Make referrals to Honors leadership and appropriate University Offices and Departments as needed.
Other Duties
- Serve as a resource to students, faculty, staff, and others on matters relating to program policies, procedures, and activities.
- Monitor approved budget and expenditures; expend resources efficiently; prepare budget reports and projections.
- Collaborate with other Honors Program staff to track student progress toward achieving Honors requirements.
- Supervise Honors & Enrichment student employees at UConn Hartford.
- Performs related duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field.
- Demonstrated experience attending or working at a diverse urban college campus or high school.
- Three to four years of professional experience in undergraduate student affairs programming or related experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of undergraduate honors programs, and student programming.
- Experience working with diverse constituencies.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple short- and long-term projects.
- Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and implement programs, services, and administrative functions.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and approach challenges flexibly or creatively.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Demonstrated knowledge of practices of antiracism, equity, and inclusion.
- Experience and knowledge supporting undergraduate students, including first-generation college students and students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds.
- Master’s degree in an appropriate field.
- Experience in an honors program or college as a student or staff member.
- Demonstrated commitment to furthering inclusive best practices.
- Experience mentoring undergraduate student leaders.
- Experience working with high-achieving students.
- Experience with supervision.
