Explore - Create - Lead

Honors students explore, create, and lead inside and outside the classroom. They discover and nurture their passions, solve problems, and work in teams.

Student activities support academic achievement. Students who are connected to their campus community and feel supported by their peers are more likely to thrive in all aspects of their UConn Honors careers.

Our goal for UConn Gives is $2409: $1 for every one of our students. We can only do this with your help!

Average amount spent per Honors student last year:$19.04

During the 2024-2025 academic year, $42,484.27 was spent directly on Honors student activities across all UConn campuses. That is money spent on painting supplies, advertising, food, t-shirts, facility rentals ... the list goes on.

Student Orgs 35%

Honors supports 9 student organizations. Through sustained engagement with areas of interest, our students develop skills necessary for success in academics, life, and career. These organizations also provide services to our program, the university, and the broader community. Almost all Honors organizations host events that are open to the entire UConn student body, so when you support Honors, you support all Huskies.

Approximately 35% of Honors student activity expenditures were ultimately the responsibility of student executive boards.

Honors also delivers programming in and around our residence halls and at our regional campuses. Unlike "Student Orgs" expenditures, those categorized as "Programming" are planned and implemented in large part (or entirely) by Honors Program staff.

All of the money spent on Honors student activities last year came from state appropriations and USG. As we all know, state appropriations are decreasing, and USG funding is never guaranteed.

(We're not counting other funds that student organizations may collect and spend. All items that were supported by USG funds would otherwise have been taken from our state appropriations.)

The Young Honors Alumni Fund can only be used to support Honors student activities and leadership development.

Help us ensure that all Honors Huskies—current and future—have access to these opportunities.
