Honors First-Year Orientation

The Honors Orientation advising team looks forward to working with your student at their Orientation session! The Honors Orientation experience will take place across two days where students will learn more about their major and academic areas of interest, general University requirements, important academic policies, and the Honors Program.

Storrs: The two-day, on-campus Orientation program will introduce your student to UConn, the Honors Program, and fellow Honors Huskies. On the first day, students will connect with peers and meet with representatives from their schools or colleges. On the second day, students will meet with Honors Orientation advisors for course registration for the fall semester.

If you register to attend an in-person Orientation session with your student in Storrs, you are invited to join us at an Honors Family Orientation information session. The presentation for this event is also posted on this page. We look forward to meeting you!

Hartford: Both days of Orientation will be on campus. Your student will connect with peers, meet staff members, and learn more about academic and University requirements. Honors students will gather on the afternoons of both day one and day two of Orientation. They will connect with one another and Honors staff who will help them learn about requirements, opportunities, and help them register for classes by the end of day two.

Stamford: Day one of Orientation will be on campus where your student will connect with peers, meet staff members, and learn more about their major and academic areas of interest, academic policies and general University requirements. They’ll also have a chance to gather with Honors students and Honors staff for a short portion of the day on campus. On the second day, the student will meet virtually with an Honors Orientation advisor for course registration. Information will be sent to students via email prior to their Orientation date about their one-on-one virtual meeting for course registration.
