Alexa Udell

Graduate Assistant, Rowe Scholars Program


Alexa Udell is a Graduate Assistant for the John and Valerie Rowe Health Professions Scholars Program under the Honors and Enrichment Programs umbrella. In this role, Alexa works with the Rowe Executive Board to plan a variety of events such as skill shares, visiting speakers, mentorship, community-building, and professional development with the goal of supporting students in developing in their academic and personal lives and building strong ties with their cohort of Rowe Scholars. She is also involved in program assessment via collecting and analyzing data from student surveys.

During her undergraduate degree, Alexa worked in research labs in the domains of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences; Psychological Sciences; and Human Development and Family Sciences. Through these roles, she acquired a diverse research skillset and became passionate about scholarship activism specifically in the domain of queer and trans research. She also worked in various UConn offices facilitating leadership, mentorship, and community building events for diverse audiences, which has honed her event hosting and management skills. She is passionate about working with underserved student populations to connect them with resources and opportunities of interest.
