Honors Removal Appeal for Minimum Honors Credit Requirement

NOTIFICATION: by August 15, 2024
DEADLINE: September 4,  2024

Honors students are expected to fully engage in the Honors Program and earn six Honors credit per academic year as part of the participation requirement.  All Honors students must earn (6) Honors credits per academic year, with exceptions granted for studying abroad or internship experience only for the entire academic year.

Important if you receive an email from the Honors Program in August 2024 about not meeting Minimum Honors Credit Requirements for the 2023-2024 Academic Year, you must fill out and submit the form below to appeal your removal from the Honors program.

Please complete the appropriate section and submit the form below by the due date of September 4, 2024, 11:59 PM EST to let us know your situation. This is a firm deadline and if the Honors office does not receive the form documenting your Honors participation, you will be removed from the Honors Program.  

Section 1 of the form – This is an opportunity for you to tell us about previous Honors or graduate work, earning a B- or above, that is not yet reflected accurately on your transcript, or studying abroad for the entire academic year, or

Section 2 of the form – Your plans for earning Honors credit or completing graduate work in the fall semester, or

Section 3 of the form – If you have decided to withdraw from the Honors Program.

Please know while we will make every effort to review your appeal as soon as possible, it may not be reviewed immediately upon receipt. Please note that all University employees are mandated reporters of child abuse or child neglect. In addition, UConn employees have responsibilities to report to the Office of Institutional Equity student disclosures of sexual assault and related interpersonal violence; any information you submit in this appeal is subject to UConn reporting policies.
