Aanvi is a senior from North Attleboro, MA double majoring in Molecular & Cell Biology and Psychological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry on the pre-med track. On campus, she is president of Knit for NICU, assistant program director of a Community Outreach program, and vice-president of the Indian Student Association. She is also an undergraduate research assistant in the Mohan Lab at UConn Health. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, going on walks, and spending time with friends. Aanvi looks forward to helping students in the Honors Program achieve their goals!

Piyush is a senior from Woodbridge, CT, majoring in Molecular and Cell Biology, minoring in Statistics, a STEM Scholar, and a part of the Special Program in Medicine. On campus, he is the director of the Second Chance Educational Alliance program with the Department of Community Outreach and is a student researcher with the Zarkada Lab. Outside of class, he enjoys playing chess and spending time with friends and family. This is his second year as a part of Honors GPS, and he is looking forward to helping other honors students!  

Josephine is a senior from Naugatuck, CT majoring in Political Science and double minoring in American Studies and History. At UConn, Josephine has been involved in political science research through the OUR IDEA Grant and SURF Award as well as the UConn Humanities Institute. She is also part of the Scholars Collective as a Nutmeg Scholar. Josephine has experience in Native American & Indigenous Studies as a Political Science Honors Bennett Research Assistant and in criminal justice policy research as an intern with the Connecticut Sentencing Commission of the UConn Institute for Municipal & Regional Policy. In her free time, she enjoys reading, going for long walks, trying out new coffee shops, and spending time with friends. Josephine is a third-year Honors GPS and is excited to continue helping fellow Honors students with their college experiences!

Aashna is a junior from Brookfield, CT studying Biomedical Engineering. At UConn, she is actively involved across campus, serving as the secretary for the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers, a team leader for Honors Across State Borders, and a member of the leadership team for Kids & UConn Bridging Education. In her free time, she enjoys playing board games, hiking, travelling, and spending time with friends. Aashna is excited to begin her second year on the team as a Senior Honors GPS and looks forward to supporting Honors students as they navigate their time at UConn!

Katherine is a Senior from Willimantic, CT in the Special Program in Law pursuing a double major in Political Science and Human Rights and a minor in Latino Studies. At UConn, she is a member of the Leadership Legacy Program, Vice President of Tri-Alpha First Gen Honor Society, President and founder of Alcanzando el Mismo Sueño and Committee Chair of the Scholar’s Collective as a Day of Pride Scholar. This past summer, Katherine was a Human Rights Institute Internship Fellow where she interned at the Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants. She was also part of the 2025 Honors Congressional Internship in Washington, D.C where she interned in the U.S House of Representative. Katherine is also a former Political Science Bennett Research Assistant. In her free time, she enjoys running, thrifting, going to markets, or exploring new towns. Katherine is a third-year GPS and is excited to work with honors students as they navigate their years at UConn!

Abhigna is a junior from Boston, MA pursuing a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB). At UConn, she serves as the Vice President of UNICEF Campus Initiative and is involved in Teach for America as an Ignite Tutor. In her free time, Abhigna enjoys playing soccer and ultimate frisbee, working out, watching movies, and traveling. She is excited to begin her second year as an Honors GPS and looks forward to supporting students as they navigate their Honors journey at UConn!

Giavanna is a senior from Long Island, NY majoring in Psychological Sciences and Political Science with a minor in Crime and Justice. On campus, she is the President of Phi Sigma Rho and is a part of Dr. Altmann’s Psycholinguistic lab and works in Sandi Carroll’s lab in collaboration with UConn Health. Off campus, she works for Fresh Prints as a Campus Manager and is an Ambassador for Margaritaville University. In her free time, she likes to listen to music, go on walks, and go cafe hopping. Giavanna is a third year Honors GPS and is looking forward to helping fellow Honors students achieve their academic goals during their time here at UCONN!
