Stay Whelmed

In Honors, we know students move between feeling overwhelmed and underwhelmed - sometimes within the same week! Staying whelmed means finding a balance between those states: a sustainable space where you can stay engaged, curious, and supported as things shift.

You won't always feel whelmed, and that's okay.

Staying whelmed isn't about doing less or avoiding challenge.  It's about having the tools and support to move toward balance from wherever you're starting.

What Staying Whelmed Makes Possible

Staying whelmed helps you:

Explore

New ideas, disciplines, and opportunities - at a pace that allows for curiosity, reflection, and adjustment, not pressure to do everything at once.

Create

Meaningful academic, creative, or community-based work, while recognizing when you need structure, feedback, rest, or a reset.

Lead

Yourself and others with intention - knowing when to step forward, when to pause, and when to ask for help.

Staying whelmed doesn't mean doing everything on your own. Honors advising and campus resources can help you make sense of challenges, clarify priorities, and connect with supports that fit your goals, needs, and campus.
