Honors Notice or Removal Due to Violation of “Student Code”

Academic Misconduct

If you are found responsible for academic misconduct under the University of Connecticut Student Code (“Student Code”), you will be placed on Honors Notice.

Upon consideration of your record of academic misconduct and/or the nature of the academic misconduct involved, the Honors Program may remove you from the Honors Program. The Honors Program will provide you with written notice of its decision for your removal from the Honors Program.

University Suspension

If you are suspended from the University of Connecticut for any length of time for a violation of the Student Code, you are immediately removed from the Honors Program.

Upon your return to the University (after serving the term of suspension), you may petition for readmission to the Honors Program. The petition must be sent in writing to the Director of the Honors Program.

An interview may be required at the discretion of the Honors Program. The Director of the Honors Program will decide whether or not to grant your petition. The Director’s final decision will be in writing and is not subject to appeal.

University Expulsion

If you are expelled from the University of Connecticut as a result of a violation of the Student Code, you are immediately removed from the Honors Program.
