Honors Readmission

After University Readmission

After a gap in your undergraduate enrollment at UConn, you may seek readmission through the Dean of Students Office. In addition, you may seek readmission to the Honors Program if you were enrolled immediately prior to your absence.

After Leaving/Being Dismissed From Honors

Students who have voluntarily withdrawn from the Honors Program or have been dismissed from Honors may seek readmission.

To be considered for Honors readmission, you must complete the application below and provide the details of your plans for returning to UConn and participating in the Honors Program (including your intended graduation date, major, school/college, and other relevant information). While it is typical for students to return to the Honors Program into the same standings as when they left the University, your review for Honors readmission will also consider your compliance regarding the Honors continuation requirements.

Honors Readmission for Junior Year or Later (four or fewer semesters remaining): If you are petitioning for Honors readmission for your junior year or later (or with four or fewer semesters remaining), YOU MUST SUBMIT A NEW or UPDATED Honors Preliminary Plan of Study  before your readmission request will be considered. The Honors Preliminary Plan of Study is a separate online process that must be approved by your departmental Honors advisor. You will need to meet with an Honors advisor in your major to discuss the courses you will list on your Honors Plan and what activity you will complete to meet the Engagement in the Major requirement. Instructions and a link to the form can be found on the Honors Preliminary Plan of Study page.

Review and Notification: Reviews typically take place after one of our admissions cycle deadlines, July 1 (notification Aug 1), October 1 (notification Oct 15), December 1 (notification Jan 15), or February 15 (notification Mar 15).  Students will be notified of their Honors readmission decision via email following their readmission to UConn and/or after our admission cycle. If you have questions or if you wish to check on the status of your application, please contact honors@uconn.edu.
